Site Redevelopment Announcement
Parker Plant is proud to announce that the extensive redevelopment of its Leicester headquarters at Viaduct Works, Canon Street, is now well underway.
Construction is advancing rapidly, with a significant proportion of the former factory and office buildings having been cleared to make way for a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. The project represents a major investment in UK manufacturing and is scheduled for completion later this year.
Parker Plant has called the Viaduct Works site home for just over 100 years. Frederick Parker originally founded the business in 1911 inside a single railway arch, but the company quickly outgrew its beginnings. By 1925, the business had relocated to the expansive 18-acre site on Canon Street - a location that has supported a century of growth, innovation and delivery to customers across the UK and beyond.
The new 75,000 sq ft facility has been purpose-built to house manufacturing operations for crushing, screening, concrete and asphalt plants — bringing Parker Plant's full product range under one modern roof. The building will comprise four dedicated production bays, a separate paint shop, and a two-storey office block. To support heavy manufacturing operations, nine new overhead cranes will be installed across the facility, with lifting capacities ranging from 10 to 30 tonnes - equipping the team to handle even the most demanding production requirements with precision and efficiency.
Sustainability has been central to the building's design. The new facility will feature solar panels, LED lighting throughout, improved insulation better controlling noise and heating, EV charging points, and enhanced biodiverse landscaping - reflecting Parker Plant's commitment to responsible, forward-thinking manufacturing.
This investment further demonstrates Parker Plant's long-term commitment to maintaining a strong and sustainable presence in both UK and international markets, building on a proud heritage that stretches back over a century.
We look forward to sharing further updates as the project progresses.
