RoadStar Answers Airport Resurfacing Logistical Challenge
Parker Plant deliver, install, and commission a RoadStar 1500 mobile batch production asphalt plant for Breedon Group, the appointed contractor for the runway resurfacing works at Islay Airport.
Islay, the southernmost island of the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, was set to provide a logistical challenge from the outset for transporting equipment and materials required for the resurfacing works.
Coordinated by Breedon Group, the RoadStar 1500, known for its high mobility, was successfully delivered onto the island via a combination of landing craft and ferries.
Once on the island, the RoadStar 1500’s minimal site foundations and cranage requirements facilitated a rapid installation and satisfactory completion of asphalt trials.
Breedon Group commented, “The Roadstar 1500 was the ideal plant for this job. It contributed significantly to the successful, on-time, delivery of this project for our valued client Highlands and Islands Airports Limited”.
This latest collaboration further demonstrates Parker Plant's commitment to supporting British contractors with British manufacturing.
